Venue One Eleven Wedding in Holly Michigan | Megan & Jordan

Updated: Dec 10, 2022

Megan and Jordan's wedding brings us to Venue One Eleven in Holly, Michigan. It was a day that was filled with beautiful details and an even more beautiful couple. I know Megan from college where we were in the same sorority and it was so touching to be asked to document her special day with Jordan. It was a crisp fall day, the leaves were just starting to fall and with plenty of sunshine, there wasn't even a chill in the air yet.

Megan began getting ready with her bridesmaids and mom as they sipped mimosas and chatted with excitement about the day ahead. Megan received earrings from Jordan as a wedding gift and she also wore a vintage ring from her grandmother that she was gifted before her passing. The ring bearer pillow and satchel were made from Megan's mom's wedding dress which I thought was such a sweet detail. It got me thinking of creative ways my daughter, Olivia, might be able to use my wedding dress and the thought alone makes me a little teary. She's not even a year old yet, so let me not get too ahead of myself, but I loved this idea as a way of incorporating family into your details. Meanwhile, Jordan enjoyed a relaxed morning with his guys before getting ready for his first look with Megan. He received a watch from his bride as a wedding gift that he made sure to put on.

The bride and groom met in the courtyard where their ceremony was set up. They were so excited to see each other. When I told Jordan how incredible Megan looked, he responded unsurprised and stated, "she always does!" As they took each other in, there was lots of giggling and smiles, just as there should be.

Their wedding party then joined in as we explored the grounds of the revitalized schoolhouse. Venue One Eleven is part of the Holly Vault Collection and makes use of the building originally constructed in 1913. Megan and Jordan's wedding party was a great group of super chill people that made their day extra fun. The bridesmaid dresses incorporated all the fall vibes with varying shades of amber dresses that coordinated with the groomsmen's ties and boutonnieres.

Megan and Jordan's wedding ceremony was officiated by Nichole from A Simple I Do Wedding. I've had the pleasure of working with Nichole at other weddings in the past and she always makes every ceremony absolutely wonderful for the couple and their guests. Megan and Jordan wrote their own vows which meant their promises to each other were filled with personal sentiments about each other and their relationship. Megan ended her vows with 1 Corinthians 13:4, which is a well-worded reminder of the true meaning of vows and unconditional love.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to cocktail hour where the room was decorated with elegance. Many people commented throughout the day how detail-oriented Megan is and it definitely showed in all the details of their day. The reception ballroom featured warm autumn tones and greenery accented with gold votives among crisp white linens. After the couple made their grand entrance, some of the bride and groom's closest family and friends shared some kind words with everyone. An eye for detail and preparedness definitely runs in the family as Megan's dad laminated his speech and the dinner blessing Megan's mom had prepared! Jordan's best man shared some fun memories and Megan's best friend shared how she remembered the day the couple met. After dinner, I snuck away with the bride and groom for a couple of sunset photos before they shared their first married dance together. After the traditional parent dances and a bouquet toss, it was time to get the party started and dance the night away.

Congratulations, Megan and Jordan! It was an honor to document your wedding day, wishing you many blessings in your journey ahead!
