When you envision your wedding day, the ideal day doesn’t usually include flood warnings, a tornado watch, severe storm advisories, and record-setting rainfall, but Annie and Anthony’s wedding day happened to include all of that. More importantly, though, it was also filled with love, friends, and family!
It was an honor to capture this amazing couple as they celebrated the day they’ve been looking forward to and making the most of the wild weather. Their go-with-the-flow attitude and ability to enjoy the day despite the challenges is a lesson that will serve them well in their marriage, especially as they experience the sunshine and storms of life together.
Annie and Anthony were excited to get married at her parent’s home in Farmington Hills where she grew up and already had so many happy memories. During the ceremony, officiated by Annie’s brother Mark, they incorporated the handfasting ritual to symbolize their lives joining as one. This is a popular Celtic tradition and was very fitting for their rainy day. After their ceremony, they didn't let the weather stop them from dancing the night away and enjoying their first dance as newlyweds.
With the love of their family and friends and an amazing team of vendors, on a day that could have been a disaster, Annie and Anthony's wedding day was a true testament of what really matters when you’re marrying your best friend and partner for life, simply having each other. Cheers to Annie and Anthony! Wishing you many years of sunshine and happiness ahead and not being afraid of dancing barefoot in the rain when it storms.
