It was a peaceful day in Rochester for Mary and Josh's engagement session. We combined a little nature stroll with a little downtown action for a beautiful day capturing their love. Despite the beautiful weather, there were very few people out and about. The entire session was so peaceful and I added a little ambiance with some relaxing acoustic music. Mary and Josh are high school sweethearts who have grown even closer as they've grown up together. I know Mary from college, she and I were in the same sorority, Tri Sigma! Mary and Josh are a fun-loving and goofy couple that are great at making each other laugh. One of Mary's favorite things about Josh is how much they laugh together.
We started at Yates Cider Mill, which is where Josh proposed riverside. They enjoy spending time here and they shared a little bit about the day they got engaged. I think it is so sweet Josh also wears an engagement ring, a true testament to his commitment to Mary already. Mary looked beautiful in her blue floral dress, which Josh coordinated his dress shirt perfectly. If you've ever been to Yates, you know you cannot leave without a cup of cider and a fresh donut, so once we had our fill, it was off to Downtown Rochester!
Mary and Josh have had many date nights on Main Street so it was only fitting for the second part of their session that I capture them in their element. When I asked them what they are most looking forward to about getting married, it was that they will finally be living in the same state. Josh currently lives out of state, which is never easy but especially so when you're planning a wedding. Since Josh was in town for their engagement session, they made a full date of the day. They started with brunch and enjoyed taking their time getting ready for their engagement session with a movie date night planned to complete their day together. I love when couples make a special day of their engagement photos and use it as an opportunity to spend quality time together!
Next summer, Mary and Josh will be getting married at Creekside Acres and I am looking forward to capturing all the love and laughter of their day!
