I am officially back from maternity leave and I couldn't wait to meet up with Amanda and Jacob for their engagement session! Amanda suggested Crosswinds Marsh in New Boston for their photos and I am so glad she did! I love when couples incorporate a location that has meaning to them. Amanda and Jacob come to Crosswinds with their dogs and while the pups didn't join for the session, it was even more meaningful to capture them together in a place that is a part of their love story and where they enjoy spending time together. If there is one thing that's for sure after spending the evening with Amanda and Jacob, it's their deep love for each other. Jacob mentioned taking photos isn't really his definition of a good time, as I've heard many times over the years, but as I guided them through their session, they were both naturals! Crosswinds Marsh is a beautifully unique location and new to me. The more I got to know Amanda and Jacob, the more I realized how perfectly it fit their personalities, very relaxed and cool!
During their session we played Motown and bonded over thrifting and rescuing dogs, we are both big advocates for pet adoption and rescues. Amanda was even able to share a little bit of what she learned about bird watching, which was a hobby she picked up during lockdown. There were quite a few bird spottings as we made our way down the wooden path through the trees. Despite the predicted rain, the skies remained clear and the evening faded into a beautiful golden sunset. It was the perfect way to end the day. Amanda and Jacob will be getting married in September and I cannot wait to capture their next milestone with them!
