Angela and Josh's winter engagement session started at the Financial District in Detroit and ended down by the Detroit riverside. These locations weren't just because they were beautiful, but because they were special to them as a couple! I absolutely love when couples choose to be documented in a place that means something to them. It's that much more significant.
Angela and Josh met at the Chase Tower, now the Qube Building, near Campus Martius. They told me the cute story of how they met at work and how their relationship blossomed from fist bumps to a stunning ring on Angela's finger. I always love hearing about the couple's story, each one is unique and beautiful!
It was an unusually sunny February day in Detroit and we were thankful for the bit of warmth and light that the sunshine brought! Their videographer came along to the session as well to document. He is going to combine footage from their engagement session and wedding together and I cannot wait to see the result. It'll be a beautiful collage of their relationship!
We started their session at Chase Tower and the midcentury building was the perfect backdrop. Then we walked through Financial District towards the Detroit Riverwalk. Angela and Josh used to walk down to the river for lunch breaks. Being winter, the Riverwalk was almost empty and the golden sky popped against the snow. It was stunning! Their session ended in a celebratory way with sparklers as the sun set behind the Detroit skyline.
Oh, and a little tip from Josh, if you're planning on getting photographs taken in the cold make sure you bring a hat because you lose most of your heat from your head! His fresh haircut looked great but didn't keep his head very warm. Even with the cold, we had fun laughing and I loved capturing the little nuances of their relationship! Angela and Josh, I'm wishing you the absolute best as you get married this fall!
