Janelle and Tom’s Detroit Riverwalk engagement session was a walk down memory lane because Detroit was where they shared their first date! I love hearing my couple’s love stories while capturing them together, but it is even more special when the location for their session is significant to them. They are such a sweet and genuine couple and documenting their love in a city that matters to them was amazing. We spent time around Detroit together starting at the Riverwalk, which was almost the place Tom proposed and is a little hint about a part of their wedding day. When I asked what they are most looking forward to about their wedding, they said that they are excited about spending time with their family and friends on their special day. We then ventured down Parker's Alley and ended our day at Queen’s Bar. Janelle and Tom love sharing a good meal and cocktails together, so this was a fun way to infuse more of their life together into their session.
Documenting the moments that make each couple unique is one of my favorite parts of engagement sessions and I love that we could incorporate so many details that show their story. I cannot wait to capture their beautiful and unique wedding next year!
