Elopement, micro wedding, minimony, however you define it, Avalon and Brent's intimate ceremony at Heritage Park was beautiful. In case you are wondering, according to The Knot, a "minimony" is a smaller ceremony that is followed by a sequel wedding. It is a mini ceremony held with a small group of loved ones that allow the couple to solidify their union and honor their first proposed date, which was very important to Avalon and Brent. The key difference of a minimony versus an elopement or micro wedding (essentially just a smaller version of a full wedding) is that a minimony preludes a "sequel wedding" to come that brings the couples' vision to life of their wedding with everyone there to celebrate.
Avalon and Brent decided to have an intimate ceremony with their local, immediate family near Avalon's hometown of Plymouth. You could say that there were a lot of details that were not as planned but Avalon and Brent didn't care. They were just ecstatic to be married and relieved after they said I do. Avalon's brother, Connor, officiated the wedding and it was a beautiful sentiment for the couple. His loving words were heartfelt and you can tell from the photographs that it was an emotional experience. Avalon had her grandma's handkerchief which definitely came in handy for the ceremony.
They were married on July 18th, and the significance of that date is not only meaningful but absolutely adorable. On that day a year ago, Brent sent Avalon a message that said he wanted to be with her forever. And well, a year later they said their vows and made it official. They will still have their sequel wedding and reception next year to celebrate with all their family and friends but this was a great opportunity to vow before God and to each other that they'll be faithful forever.
I am extremely honored that I was able to be there to document their intimate ceremony with their loved ones and I cannot wait to capture all the joy on their wedding day next year!
