Kristy and Daniel's day was filled with family, friends, and faith and I was so honored to be back with them this year documenting their special day. If you remember from last year, Kristy and Daniel eloped on Loving Day overlooking the beautiful Detroit skyline, you can read and see more in this linked blog post. Last year, Kristy's family in Canada weren't able to be there because of the border shutdowns, but this year was their year for celebrating fully with everyone they love.

Starting the day, Kristy got ready with all of her girlfriends and her mom while Daniel got the day started with the guys. Everyone was calm and enjoying the morning but you could feel the excitement in the air! Kristy and Daniel gifted their parents thoughtful gifts before the ceremony, their fathers received a watch and their mothers received a bracelet. Now that Kristy and Daniel were surrounded by family and friends, it was time to capture it all, starting with their wedding party. They were such a fun group and everyone was overflowing with love for the happy couple.

The ceremony this year was more of a vow renewal for Kristy and Daniel and everything took place at The Holiday Inn Detroit to make it easy and stress-free for all of their out-of-town guests. Kristy wore her gorgeous cathedral veil, which looked just as beautiful as it did last year. It was important that their faith be front and center of their day. They included a sand pouring ceremony, spoke beautiful commitments to each other and it was so moving to see their family and friends worship with them.

After the ceremony, Kristy and Daniel made sure to incorporate lots of heartwarming details into their reception like displaying their parents' wedding photos and veils, a guestbook made from records representing their love of music, the rope they tied together in last year's elopement ceremony, and a plaque explaining the meaning behind June 12th being named as Loving Day. It is a significant day in American history, which you can read more about here. As a fellow Canadian, I was also very excited about the Smarties candy on display with their sweets table because they are one of my favorite candies!

Both Kristy and Daniel's parents made speeches where they expressed how happy they were that they found each other and thanked God for bringing them all together. Kristy and Daniel enjoyed special dances with their parents before everyone enjoyed concluding the evening by dancing the night away!
