Megan and Greg's proposal at Belle Isle in Detroit was so beautiful to witness and document. Greg reached out over the summer to inquire about photography for his upcoming proposal. He had been dating his girlfriend, Megan, for almost seven years. He wanted to propose to his high school sweetheart a couple of weeks before their anniversary so they could spend the day celebrating. He knew he wanted a more private location for the proposal so that they were in the moment and I could capture all the beautiful emotions to follow. We discussed different locations in Detroit over the following months and Greg decided on Sunset Point at Belle Isle. It truly was the perfect location to get down on one knee and ask his best friend and soulmate to marry him.
It was a gorgeous, sunny day when Greg brought Megan to Belle Isle. She was truly surprised when the moment happened since she thought she was there for Greg's work event and they were just stopping by the take in the scenery before the event began. You could see the surprise and joy on her face as she said yes! As I approached them, Megan was still in shock but so excited!
I captured them in the moments to follow around Belle Isle, allowing them to take it all in. They celebrated with a champagne toast before we headed to downtown Detroit for more photographs. We finished their session at the Z Lot downtown as the sun was setting. It created a beautiful, golden glow and was the best way to end their photographs. Before they headed off to celebrate, I took a few polaroid photographs so they had some pictures in hand as they left.
