Today’s a day to remember. Remember to squeeze your loved ones tightly, to love them dearly, and to hold on to each sweet moment. Breanna and James had a sweet moment to remember on Wednesday! Their Belle Isle proposal at Sunset Point may not have been sunny, but it was sure filled with glowing joy and bright smiles. James decided he wanted to propose at the spot that they first became officially a couple on their third date. Breanna said she knew the moment she met him that she was going to marry him. And sure enough, she was right!
As we walked towards the river with the Detroit skyline in the background, James had his hand tightly around the ring in his pocket. You could tell that he was excitedly awaiting the moment to slide in on to her finger. They held hands and looked at each other lovingly as I asked them to tell each other three things that they would always promise to do for each other. Breanna asked James to go first and the words exchanged were so sweet. After they both said their promises, James got down on one knee to pop the question! And of course, Breanna said yes with a big smile and a little giggle.
They popped some champagne to celebrate and had a blast spraying it all over! As the crisp air set in, they cuddled up on a blanket and snuggled in close. They were overjoyed and laughing. Breanna's nose crinkles from laughter are my absolute favorite! Watching and documenting these two interact put a smile on my face because they’re both fun-loving, sweet, and silly. The best kind of people.
James had a great night planned, so after we took some more photographs at Sunset Point, we headed over to the Aquarium and Conservatory for a few more photographs before they headed off to their next destination. Breanna knew that there was a fancy evening ahead, so she was prepared with a super cute dress from Dry Goods and her stunning black Jimmy Choo heels, which she rocked effortlessly.
At the end, I snapped a few Polaroids so that they had some photos in hand. Then they headed to The Whitney to celebrate and I headed home to get some sneak peeks to them that night! Again, I had the biggest smile on my face as I previewed the photographs from their proposal because their love and energy was evident in every single one.
