Megan and Jordan's engagement session in Detroit at the DIA and Belle Isle was not only beautiful but so fun! It was a gorgeous fall day when we met at the Detroit Institute of Arts to begin their session. Megan looked absolutely stunning in her flowy dress from Lulus. The formality of their outfits fit perfectly with the grand marble architecture of the DIA as well!
As I captured their laughter and sweet interactions, we talked about their wedding plans and all the little tips they've picked up along the way from the weddings they've attended recently. I know their wedding next year at Venue One Eleven will be perfectly planned and organized since these two have learned a lot from friends' weddings.
Before we left the DIA, we walked around to the front of the building where the leaves were just beginning to change. Their neutral outfits popped against the golden leaves and I shared my excitement about editing their photographs with all the fall colors. I absolutely love documenting and editing fall photographs with their warm tones and cozy vibes!
Afterward, we headed over to Belle Isle to document them in a more natural setting tucked away in the city. I love documenting couples near the Conservatory because it's a stunning backdrop. The golden light from the setting sun reflected in the glass as they talked, embraced and even did a little dance.
As the sun was setting, we headed towards the Detroit River to document them amongst the fields and the willows. Just before their session ended, it began to rain! These two weren't worried at all and I grabbed my clear umbrella to take some more portraits of them in the rain. Megan commented that it also rained when she had her senior portraits taken, the last time she had professional photographs, so it was only fitting!
I'm looking forward to capturing all the love and excitement for Jordan and Megan's wedding in September!
All my love,
