Picking up right where we left off after Dara and Griffin's ceremony last year, they were finally able to celebrate with their family and friends. I was excited to spend the day with them again because we always have a great time. I love Dara's sense of humor and Griffin's easy-going personality. Since they enjoyed the intimate wedding from last year so much, Dara and Griffin decided to keep their second celebration small again this year. If you missed their Maple Cove ceremony, you can check it out here!
The first official fall weekend of the year provided us with beautiful weather for a day of celebrating. They got ready with their wedding party at a local AirBnB where they were able to relax, laugh, and prepare for the day together. Every single detail of Dara's dress, hair, jewelry, and shoes was stunning. She added hair gems to her soft waves and looked glamorous like a classic Hollywood movie star! Meanwhile, Griffin was enjoying old fashions with his groomsmen, his favorite drink, and he gifted them all with engraved pocket knives.
Once everyone was ready we headed back to where it all began for Dara and Griffin, Oakland University. We met under Elliott Tower to capture some family photos and formal photos with the wedding party. Everyone was looking their best in their shades of blue and navy and the sun peeked out right when we needed it. The bridesmaids picked out their own dresses and coordinated perfectly together. Even though Dara's nephew, Kade, wasn't enjoying photos as much as we were, he did a great job looking cute. While you can't tell from the photos, we were surrounded by crowds of high schoolers and parents there for Homecoming photos. As an Oakland University alumni, I am happy to see everyone enjoying the beautiful campus, but I was shocked at how popular it was for photos. We headed over to the newly renovated amphitheater in the Oakland Center. Dara and I also met at OU so it was fun to be on campus together again and see the updates they've made.
Before their reception, we finished their portraits with some stunning photographs at sunset where Dara got to show off her customized denim jacket again and take in the last few moments together as bride and groom before continuing their love story as husband and wife. For the reception, everyone enjoyed dinner and mingling at Camp Ticonderoga. The cake was delicious, I couldn't resist trying a piece! Griffin's brother and Dara's sister both shared sweet words and well-wishes to the bride and groom during their speeches. It was the most relaxed reception filled with so much love, you could just feel how much the couple enjoyed seeing their friends and family for such a special occasion. Thank you, Dara and Griffin, for trusting me not just once but twice to share in your special day! I cannot wait to see where your lives lead next!
All my love,
