Grace and Braeden's unconventional wedding day was a perfect fit for these two. I was excited to be with friends and documenting their new chapter as it unfolded. If you remember from their engagement blog, Grace and Braeden are friends of mine and my husband and the only thing I love more than documenting love is documenting the love of my friends.
Grace and Braeden had a lot of friends travel from across the country to celebrate their day and it was important to the couple to show all of their friends a great time. The celebration started with a cocktail hour before the ceremony. Braeden was able to mingle with everyone and catch up with his friends from Texas. Grace's roller derby friends from New York made the special trip to be there also. Just before the ceremony started, Grace and Braeden had an impromptu first look so they were able to have a moment together before the excitement of the day continued. It was so sweet to see Braeden's face light up as he saw Grace, his barefoot bride, for the first time. Grace looked radiant in her lace dress with crochet detailing. She even braided her own hair and had the coolest earrings!
With all of their closest family and friends gathered around, the wedding party made their way up the small grassy hill in her parent's backyard where they were also joined by honorary member, Tom the dog. Grace has always dreamed of getting married in her parent's backyard and it looked like a dream come true as she was escorted by her parents to her groom just as golden hour was streaming through the trees. The sweet ceremony included a poem reading and the couple shared the vows they wrote for each other. With many laughs and happy tears, their words of love and gratitude for each other were so heartwarming. Once rings were exchanged and they sealed their union with a kiss, Tom came running to the front to see what all the clapping and excitement was about. Continuing their day of uniqueness, the couple chose to exit from their ceremony to the trees instead of to the reception area so we could document their first precious moments as newlyweds together. Grace and Braeden joined the rest of the party shortly after where they enjoyed dancing and celebrating with everyone under the pergola, string lights, and stars of course! Even though it started to rain when they were dancing, the party didn't end there. Braeden and Grace moved the party to the pool where they were joined by friends! It is always an honor to be a part of any couple's special celebration but when friends trust you to document a milestone in their love story, it is even more special. Cheers to Grace and Braeden with many special years and memories ahead!
