It was a gorgeous spring day for Braeden and Grace's engagement session at their rad home in Detroit. Spending the evening with this fun-loving couple was just like hanging out with friends, but probably because they are! Grace and Braeden are friends of my husband and I, who have known each other since they were little. Grace and Braeden were friends for years before dating and now they're finally engaged!
We started their session at their home listening to some of their favorite records and enjoying the light streaming in the windows after a very gloomy and cloudy morning. Grace and Braeden have a beautiful home in Detroit, where they spend most of their time, so it was fun to capture them in their natural surroundings and with their dog, Apollo. Grace is such a gem with a wonderful spirit and spending time with her and Braeden is always fun.
We then took a bike ride around the city since they both love biking and enjoy seeing the city this way. For our final stop, we hung out at Wayne State University as it has become a favorite spot of theirs to visit while our riding around. Since Braeden loves film photography like I do, we experimented with some different techniques and shutter speeds to recreate a similar look, which totally suits their style as a couple. It is always the biggest compliment and honor when friends trust me with their special moments and events, especially since Braeden is a videographer and has a keen creative eye. I cannot wait to celebrate and capture their wedding in August!
