This commitment ceremony at Stony Creek was anything but traditional, but that is what made it beautiful and unique. We partnered with Meghan from Lux Wedding Co. who provided the best leather jacket with "til death" beautifully hand-painted on the back as well as a matching hand-painted hat. They were perfect compliments to Julia's jade dress.
Julia and Jenna had planned to get married in April, but then as well all know, the pandemic had other plans. They decided to postpone their intimate wedding until next year when everyone can celebrate together without social distancing. So, instead of having a small ceremony this year, we decided to do something a bit different! Julia and Jenna had a beautiful commitment ceremony in a private area of Stony Creek Metro Park. Being a Detroit wedding photographer, I am constantly looking for quiet areas away from the noise and people to photograph. So this spot was perfect! And in case you are wondering, a commitment ceremony, according to The Spruce, is "is simply a public affirmation of a couple's commitment to one another."
They both wrote the most beautiful vows, or commitments to each other, that were funny, emotional, candid, and filled with so much love! The was lots of laughter and a few beautiful tears shed. Following their ceremony, we chased the sunset and danced in the field to Abba. They rocked out to Dancing Queen after popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate their commitment to each other.
Needless to say, it was a spectacular evening with an amazing couple!
